Ciaran Tully

photograph by John Stewart

Ciaran Tully moved to New York City from Dublin Ireland in 1990. In that time he has come to appreciate, understand and love the soul of New York.

His images are composed of all the classical elements that make up the photographic medium. The beauty in his work is fused by soft and sharp focus, relaying a tenderness and at times a tough gritty composition. His work, while captured from the street is not about the street. There is an abstract painterly quality about it that conveys a feeling of beauty and a light-headed airinesvs that suggest a deep-seated love for his adopted city . . .
